Its not about being wealthy yet; its about money. Some are (we know all of this well before when we were encouraging investments when we were running a financial institution:
1. Learn the game;
2. Have the right mindset. Religion or scriptures were said to be contrary to wealth building or money accummulation. "Money is the root of all evil"
3. Avoid debt;
4. Avoid assets that depreciates. Is a home an appreciating asset? It gets old, and you pay real property tax. You need to repair it. So it is a depreciating asset. Unless you are a flipper, or you have it rented;
5. Pay yourself first
6. Save
7. Invest; invest safely
8. Live according to your means
